Emails getting stuck in Outbox on local folder

Hi,

Using EM client since 8 years. All the sudden all outgoing emails are stuck in outbox.
I checked setting to server one .com, everything is correct and according to diagnostic it’s ok.

Sending emails on One.com web email is working just fine.
I have disabled the firewall and the issue persists.
I have tried adding the same email account, problem persists.
I have uninstalled EM client and installed again, same issue with the new updated client.

Never had this issue, it started thursday 27th november. Am I missing something obvious? Is there a setting to save it localy instead of sending it?

Update. After adding the same email server account setting again I am able to send perhaps one or two emails at most before the issue comes right back.

Really weird, its like its some setting that activates or so.

System.IO.IOException: Unable to read data from the transport connection.

Update. After adding the same email server account setting again I am able to send perhaps one or two emails at most before the issue comes right back.

From your log as this issue suddenly just all of a sudden started happening and removing and readding your account is only sending some of the time, and you have completely disabled any “optionally installed firewall security programs or optionally installed antivirus programs or vpn’s running resident” and have the latest updates for Windows 10 or 11, I would first suggest to shutdown your computer and modem / router for eg: 2 mins and then power back on incase it’s some sort of eg: Old or Stale IP address issue and might need a new assigned ISP IP address depending on if you have a dynamic or static IP.

Next If powering off your computer and modem / router for 2 mins and back on makes no difference, then you either have an SMTP server problem at the moment, or you possible might have outdated or incorrect SMTP mail setting that might need updating or you might have an “upload speed issue” that’s not working 100%.

So next “check with your SMTP technical support via phone or website support if they are currently experiencing any sending mail issues”, and tell them what’s been happening when you send mail, just incase there is a current SMTP Server mail problem atm.

Now “If they are not aware of any current sending issues” or server outages etc, then next I would suggest to do a internet speed test “to make sure your upload speed is as it should be” which might be a problem sending mail if it’s eg: been slowed all of a sudden. A good site to test upload speed is eg: speedtest.net

If your upload speed is normal, then next update what your account SMTP “Server address, Server Port & Security Policy” is so we can check if there is any obvious errors. If you are using One.com SMTP Port 465 this is the current Security Port and Security Policy you can use with eM Client. Port 465 = Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)

If that doesn’t work, try setting the SMTP Port to “587” and set the Security Policy to “Force use of SSL/TLS” Or Security Policy “TLS Use STARTTLS “ if you are using the latest eM Client V10.4, as One.com also support Port 587 and could be there maybe current problems sending via the mail Port 465 that most One.com users send by if you have been using that default port.

Also “when you carn’t send”, click the dropdown on the right of Refresh and click “Show Operations” and click the “Log tab” and look for any obvious error messages and paste them in this thread. We might then also be able to see why you carn’t send. Blank out anything personal in the error log.

Ty! I will try this today. I have spoken to technician yesterday on one.com and he said the problem was not with them.

Thanks for your reply and many tries to fix the issue.

Modem, router & computer was shut down for 5 min, no change.
Emails instantly go to outbox and error message keeps returning.

No issued with one.com, and webmail works.

Speed test 400 mbit down/400 mbit up, no issue.

I’v tried port 587 and 465 with all options with TLS etc. , (587 was what iv had before when it was working).

This is so weird!

Does it help knowing when I run diagnostics I get green OK för both IMAP and SMTP?

What version of Windows do you have ?

Windows 11 Home
26200.7462

Problem is now solved.
I deleted all emails that had been stuck in the outbox folder, and then tried sending a new one and it started working. Really random bug!
But thanks for your help!
