email use to have a web site picture, which i could click on to open, now my email gives me a link which i have to click on to open.

Go to menu/tools/settings/mail/read and make sure “Read all messages in plain text” is not checked.

If that does not help, there is the option to download images that may have been blocked by your privacy settings.

You can change the settings in Menu > Tools > Settings > Mail > Privacy.
