I just upgraded to v7 beta and…

When displaying email senders / recipients, it seems to:

  1. Look up the contact associated with that email address
  2. Display the DEFAULT email address for that contact.

Why would you go to the trouble of doing that? If I have a contact who has several email addresses, it’s IMPORTANT which one I sent email to. 

E.g. my colleague has a personal and a work email address. I send an email to their work email address. I hold the mouse over the recipient, and the tooltip shows their personal email address. I check the message headers, and I see that the To: line is correct.

  1. Can I turn this behavior off please?
  2. What were you thinking?

Hello Ben,
this is a bug probably connected with the changed Contacts in v7.
The tooltip indeed accesses the information from your Contacts list in order to give you the full contact information and link you to that contact, but only display the defaul contact (which is actually easier to do, but definitely not the correct behaviour in this situation).
If you reply to that email it will still be sent to the correct one.
I reported this issue to our team to be fixed in next updates.

Thanks! Showing the contact’s icon and phone number and so on is all very nice - but if it comes at the expense of showing the wrong email address it’s not worth having =)
