eM Crashing at Launch due to specific email (!?)

One of my email accounts is an IMAP hotmail account. That account received an email today. When the email preview opened, eM immediately crashed.

I’ve deleted the email using a web browser into hotmail. When I start eM, it opens the same account and tries to preview the same email and then it crashes. I’m guessing there’s not enough time for the email account to be resynced.

I’m happy to lose the email or even the entire hotmail account. (Presumably I can re-add the account later and the offending email will be gone.)

I’d love any suggestions you might have…short of uninstalling eM and then reinstalling it and reentering accounts, etc. (Yes, I have my settings exported but it’s a month old and lots of information doesn’t get saved like column arrangements.)

Solved! Indeed, the email was the problem. Devs may want to look at the email and see why it crashes. How did I get out of it? I opened eM, let it check the database since it crashed last time, while it’s checking, I move my mouse to where any other email in that folder might be, and I just start clicking. It registers the selection sooner than it can fill the preview window with whatever the problem is. And as expected, as the highlight email was changing, the offending email came off the list since it was deleted elsewhere. Thanks everyone for listening to me talk to myself :slight_smile: Happens a lot to me these days.
