New in the settings, there is finally the option to hide the local folders.
Only then will all contacts in the address book disappear.
When importing the contacts, the addresses only appear when you open the local folder again
can be switched on.
But I don’t need the local folders at all
and I’m very happy that you finally have them, can hide.

When importing the contacts, the addresses only appear when you open the local folder again
can be switched on.
Sounds like when you imported your contacts they went to Local folder contacts instead of your actual account contacts and need to be moved.
So to move them to your account contacts, Click “Contacts” down the bottom left of eM Client.
Then click “Contacts under Local folders” and select all the email address’s.
Next either “Drag the selected address’s all in one go to your account contacts” or “Right click on the selected contacts and click Move to folder” as in the below Local folder contacts to Outlook contacts example.
Lastly “remove the check from Local folder contacts”.
We’ve always had that option. 
I don’t have that view at all.
I only have the Contacts item, see screenshot below.
Is it because I have POP3?
