eM+client+stopped+working+on+Windows+10

Ten days ago I bought a new computer with Windows 10 pre-installed.  I’d been using eM client (free version) for several months on my old, Windows 7 computer with no problems at all, so downloaded it onto the new one (I was delighted when it automatically brought with it all my settings, folders and even all my emails!)

For the last couple of days it has, more and more frequently, told me that it ‘cannot access remote server’.  I use eM client to access my web-based Windows Live account, so I checked that all the settings were correct - which they were.  This evening it seems totally unable to bring my emails over or to send any either.  I was expecting a couple of important emails, so I checked in my web-based account to find them there waiting for me.  Tried clicking ‘Refresh’ again in eM client but still no joy.

I suspect this is something to do with Windows 10 rather than eM client.  A day or so earlier I tried to open my imported registry cleaner, only to be told that the link had been moved (not by me) and no longer worked.  I uninstalled the cleaner, put an updated version back in today and after running it tried eM client again.  Still wouldn’t Refresh but did allow me to reach this forum, which it wouldn’t before.

Does anyone know what might be going on?  Thanks.
