eM Client restarts from zero. Does not see previously created accounts, WLM-imported data base, etc.

eM Client was apparently setup all right. Two accounts created, data and storage folders imported from WLM. Directories visible and mail functional. I closed the program, fetched and entered a license key. Now the program always opens empty, as if I had done nothing. Yet the data base location, as indicated in settings, contains all the data. What’s wrong?
