Em client on mac, tiny compose font

Just got em client on mac setup with all my accounts and everything transferred, came to compose an email and the 12pt default font is too small.

I’m on a macbook. I hope this is not a retina display scaling issue. My incoming mail fonts all look fine and totally readable - most of them bigger than the 18pt example here. I just tested sending, and the font in the compose window is about 75% of the size of the same font in a received email.

is there a way to increase the size without inflicting enormous text on recipients?

Thats not a fault of the program. Its just Helvetica 12 is a small font size.

Suggest you change to font size 14 if you want to use that specific font

On my Mac using eg: Display 2560x1440 & “default Mac OS font text scaling” with 12 & 14.

Nope! If it was the program rendering the fonts as intended the font size in the compose window would be the same as the font sized once returned to my inbox.

This is an accessibility issue for me

OK, i have just found that “ZOOM” in the compose window is remembered, so as far as accessibility goes that is fixed.

However 14pt should be pretty chunky, and I found that em client is converting it to 10.5pt in the HTML

body { font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 10.5pt; }

When I manually set the font size to 14 in the compose window it’s set to 14px (not point), and ditto with 18

whats happening here?

Setting Helvetica Font & size 12, 14 etc in eM Client all looks normal for me in default 100% no zoom when composing & reading using the latest V10.4.5647 and Mac Tahoe 26.6 official build.

So could be your Mac OS Settings, or OS Helvetica font issue, or could be your eM Client version might need updating.

What Mac OS version do you have ? and what version of eM Client are you using ?

Also what happens if you try a differant font ? Do they all do the same or not ?

As I said in the OP, its a new install. I’m on the latest mac OS, I updated it 5 days ago. thank you for your contributions, but this is a bug.

Suggest you then contact official support then if you say it’s a bug who can assist you further.

If you have a current active paid Pro, Personal or Business license, go to the VIP support page and login and lodge a support ticket.

If you have run out of your 12 months support time then click here to get another year extension.
