eM Client not downloading pictures

My eM Client has stopped downloading pictures. When I click on option to download all I get is a small black box with a cross in the middle.

Hello Mike, what version of eM Client are you currently using on your computer, can you please check the exact release number in Help > About? What images are not being displayed? Are you referring to the linked items that are by default hidden to avoid downloading unsolicited emails etc.?

Can you please make a screenshot of this issue? Are you using any security software on your computer that may have disabled the application’s ability to download these items from the remote server?

Can you also please make sure you’re using the recommended privacy setting in Tools > Settings > Mail > Privacy?

Thank you,

Hi Paul. The problem seems to have been cured though in rather a strange way.
I was also having problems yesterday with my Firefox browser - the proxy server was refusing all connections. I modified the proxy server settings and Firefox then seemed OK apart from accessing a Yahoo email account I also have ( Certificate was untrusted). I then tried Internet Explorer to access my Yahoo email but IE could not access any sites because of proxy problems. After altering proxy settings in IE I then found IE worked OK, but also my emails started downloading pictures.
I have to admit i do not really understand proxy settings, though I did manage to get my 2 browsers working by setting them to auto detect I think it was. But I have no idea how that should have affected my pictures in eM Client. Any ideas?

Hello Mike, thank you for following up with us, I’m glad it works, unfortunately eM Client does not support any proxy authentication settings nor adjusted proxy setup. Using proxy on your configuration without setting exceptions for eM Client can cause issues while connecting to the mail or licensing server.

Make sure to let us know if you come across any other issues or questions about the application, we’ll be happy to help.

Regards,
