eM Client not auto polling IMAP server for past few days

I’m using using eMClient 10.3.2619 on Win11. I’m connecting using IMAP.

For the past 3 or 4 days, my emails are taking hours to appear in eMClient. They do eventually come in. I’ve not changed any settings.

If I check webmail I see them immediately, and if I restart eMClient they come in, as though a ‘proper’ poll happens when I start eMClient. There doesnt seem to be any issue sending emails.

Any ideas?

I should add, after restarting eMClient the emails come in immediately for a while, its not only just when I restart, I probably get a few hours of it working ok.

Hi, we’d like to take a look at your IMAP logs:

  1. Go to menu > Settings > Advanced.
  2. Enable logging for IMAP.
  3. Restart eM Client.
  4. Go back to Advanced and click Send Logs. Address the email to [email protected] please.

Thanks thats now done. It seems a bit more reliable today, but I’ve sent the logs anyway in case they help.

When you change nothing and suddenly IMAP emails are taking forever to receive in a mail client, that could be caused by many reasons.

eg: external mail server issues that doesn’t affect webmail as they are different ports etc or can be a mail routing issue from your ISP to the remote mail server or could be old stale IP address that needs renewing or could be related to a background program possible Interferring.

So first thing I would suggest is if you haven’t already tried, “power off your computer and wifi modem and/or any internal network switches if you have them for 2 mins” and then turn back on and see if the mail is received normally.

If it still doesn’t “do a speed test” to make sure your internet connection speed hasn’t dropped. A good site to test is speedtest.net

If your internet speed is ok, then “I would next contact your mail server technical support” and ask them if they are having any current issues receiving from mail clients compared to accessing webmail. Could be a current server issue.

If your mail server technical support say their end is ok, then if you are running any eg: optionally installed firewall / security programs or optionally installed antivirus programs or vpns, "other than what comes default with the OS, try completely disabling those to test incase of interference.
