I recently needed to get a link from Alaska Airlines to reset my password. The airline sends me email with the link, but when clicking on the link, the webpage is not valid. I get this error message " This site can’t be reached
Check if there is a typo in https."
This happens if I use EM client on my iphone and using EM client on my Mac desktop.
The formatting is somehow off. This happens even if I copy the link in the email and paste it.
However if I open the email in Apple Mail on my iphone and click on the link, it works fine. So, EM Client seems to be incompatible with certain email links. This took me a hour to figure out what was wrong… I thought it was a problem on Alaska Airline’s end.
If I didn’t have Apple Mail as a back up, I don’t know how I would have reset my password on Alaska Airlines. Makes me want to just go back to using Apple Mail.

eM Client will open “standard html” http or https url links.
So sounds like as the URL link would only open in Apple Mail, it could be some eg: non standard custom html coding.
To find out why it wouldn’t open in eM Client, “right click in the email body” and choose “Save As” to save the page as a (.eml) message.
Then if you have a current active paid Pro or Personal or Business version, go to the VIP support page and login and lodge a support ticket and “attach the (.eml) message” to be investigated.

If it doesn’t open by copying and pasting into a browser webpage url line directly, then I would contact Alaska Airlines and advise, as pasting http / https url links should normally open in a browser.
Using the eM Client mobile app, you can set the app to “open links in an external browser” to see if that makes any difference. If that also doesn’t open in your external browser, then it’s definately some url issue with the link in the senders email.
Press “Menu / Settings / Mail / Read” and slide / enable “Open links in external browser”
My moble app is set to open links in external browser, but link still fails. It doesn’t fail when opening same link from within Apple Mail on mobile phone. I’ll submit the email to EM Client so maybe they can determine why it fails.
Ok I just submitted a ticket with the .eml file, maybe someone can figure out why the link fails with EM Client but not with Apple Mail.
I was able to copy and paste the link from Apple Mail and EM Client. This is how EM Client reads the link:
http://https//www.alaskaair.com/atmosrewards/account/reset-password/recovery?recoveryToken=e6b8556018fe411295f9d09eb011877e
and this is how Apple Mail reads the link:
Now it’s evident why the link doesn’t work in EM Client.
Can you share a ticket number, so we can find the EML file quickly?
