eM Client folders imported are not same as my source WLM folders

Hi!   Today I downloaded eM Client 7.0.26687.0. Nice! Then I imported my Windows Live Mail folders from my Win 10 Version 1511 (OS Build 10586.545). (BTW, I download all my emails from Gmail to my Acer notebook.)  The eM Client screen prompted me to choose the source app: and I selected WLM.  I used POP3 before but selected IMAP format for the import.   But … a while back I had renamed some folders and moved some emails.  Now … what I have imported into eM is my old folder format. Any help gratefully received. Thanks. Charlie

I realise what I wrote above might need clarification! eM has imported an old set of folders from WLM, not the ones I am using now. But confusingly, emails I downloaded from Gmail before importing to eM today have been imported OK.  Also … no Contacts were imported.

Above shows the two different views: Windows Live Mail, and eM import screen.  eM doesn’t seem to know where to look to get the up-to-date view of my WLM folders.

If I try to import everything in one go, it crashes. So I want to import sets of folders and sub-folders, set by set.  And for that I need a synchronised view between WLM and eM Client.  Grateful for any help.

BTW I got a clean import of all my contacts in .VCF format. Hey!

After much scratcing about, here’s my answer. It seems that in WLM when you drag-and-drop folders full of emails, WLM creates a kind of “pseudo” folder structure, which is what you see. But your old folders are still lying under the WLM “meta-data”. And it’s the old folders eM Client sees. WLM just creates a new view of your old folders. So what you have to do is set up a fresh, new, clean set of folders in WLM. Then drag all your old emails (no folders mind!) into your clean new empty WLM folders structure. Then delete old empty folders. Now go to eM Client and do the import into eM Client… Bob’s your uncle!

Groan!  That was what I’m afraid of.  It would take me a month of work to move all my WLM storage folders by that method!!
