eM Client Error Message

I keep receiving the following error message when I first open eM Client to check my email:

[Google Contacts] Uploading item(s) to folder ‘[email protected]/Other Contacts’ failed due to the following error: Parameter validation failed for “resourceName” : The value did not match the regular expression ^people/[^/]+$

Could somebody please explain what is happening and how can I fix the problem.

Thanks!

That means your eM Client Google contacts in eM Client are not synced or got out of sync with your online Google contacts and you need to run the repair on your account contacts.

See @Gary post below

Ps Also blank out the first part of your Gmail address in your post for privacy reasons.

Thanks for the feedback cyberzork and the heads up on the email address, it is something that I overlooked and have now edited.

I’m getting exactly the same error message, even after running the command “C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client\MailClient.exe” /dbrepair. Also, although I’m using a GMail account, I cannot find any “Google Contacts folder” in eM Client. Can someone guide me through what I need to do to resolve this? Thank you.

You don’t run the database repair. You do the account contacts repair

So in your case “right click” on All Contacts under your Gmail account and then click “Properties” at the bottom. Then click the “Repair” tab at the top and run the Repair.

If that still doesn’t work, then go to “Menu / Accounts” and remove and readd your Gmail account via the add account “automatic account wizard” at the top.

Note: If you do remove and readd your account, make a backup first via “Menu / Backup” incase you need to restore for any reason. You can see when the backup is complete in Show Operations via clicking the drop-down on the right of Refresh.

Thanks for that. I’ll save a copy of this in case I need to refer to it in future. However, I did actually solve the problem another way while waiting for your response and that was by restoring yesterday’s auto backup, but it’s nice to know I’ve got more than one option if I have a similar problem again. Onec again, thank you for your help; it’s much appreciated.
