Hello, after setting up a Gmail account (desktop, macOS) and syncing it, I suddenly can no longer access it via eM Client. The username and password are no longer accepted, neither for IMAP nor for SMTP.
I can still access my email using other email clients.
after setting up a Gmail account (desktop, macOS) and syncing it, I suddenly can no longer access it via eM Client. The username and password are no longer accepted.
Could be a problem with your eM Client OAuth token in your Google account that maybe didn’t authorise properly, or could be your account in eM Client has some issue when it was setup or maybe there is a Gmail issue on the Server end.
So first thing I’d do is “make your you can login ok with your Gmail username and password via Google webmail” incase it’s a Gmail account issue or Gmail server problem like an Outage.
If you can login ok via Gmail online via a browser, then next “close eM Client” and try going online to your Google account Third Party apps and services and “revoke / remove the eM Client OAuth token”. Then reopen eM Client and you should see a popup box to re-allow eM Client access to your Gmail account. See if that fixes it.
If removing and re-allowing eM Client access to your Gmail account still has the same username and password problem and it’s a normal Gmail IMAP setup, then suggest to go back to “Menu / Accounts” and remove and readd your Gmail account via the automatic account wizard for Google Workspace and see if that fixes it.
Alternatively if you have been making regular eM Client backups “either automatically via the Settings or manually via the Menu” and have a normal IMAP setup, you can alternatively restore a recent backup when you know it was working ok via going to “Menu / File / Restore” and any new emails since the backup will update when eM Client reconnects and syncs. Then just continue from there.
Thank you. I fixed it, by deleting and reinstall the GMail account.
