Wanting to use eM Client again. This is a new PC (Win10) & fresh download & install. However, the app doesn’t open for me. The box says check for corrupt data failed. I also saw something about eM Client didn’t close properly last time ?? Thanksfor any helop.
First, make sure you are using the most current version of eM Client by going to https://www.emclient.com/release-history as some older versions did not close gracefully. If you get corruption that cannot be fixed, you are best off to delete the database and start with a fresh one. If you are using imap or exchange, this shouldn’t be an issue as the database is stored on the server and replicated to the client. Do the following:
1. Close eM Client.
2. Delete (or rename) c:\users[user_name]\AppData\Roaming\eM Client (this is a hidden folder, so make sure you have “Show hidden files” checked in Windows Explorer)
3. Restart eM Client. It will create a new database.
4. Reenter your account information.
eM Client will then resync your data.
Thank you very much! Deleting that file allowed me to start the app & set up my account, which I was not yet able to do.
