Right!
Fast typing in task notes:
I am a fast typer (>240 char/min). While V5.x was ok, Beta 2, 6.0.19404 is errative here: If I add some text top of the note (there is existing text below the line!), while typing and without any clear reason (no strange keys hit) the cursor jumps down a line somewhere in the middle inserting or overwriting what is already there.
For I see what I type I can stop typing and correct that behaviour. Nevertheless, its anoying.
Spell checker language ist DE and checking is on.
It seems to occur each time a line has more than 16 characters and I finish a word (blank, full stop or so) that the spell checker does not know.
Does anybody see this, too?
Cannot drag and drop http links in task notes.
With V6.0 http links in notes are underlined and can be clicked.
But they can’t be dragged to the browser of choice, unlike links in emails.
Should be possible to drag and drop those text-only hyperlinks, too.
When I try to send a file as attachment using external program (*), the mail format is HTML even if I selected PLAIN TEXT
Is it correct?
Thanks
Francesco
(*) External program such as (the easiest): Windows–> right click on a file, send to --> Mail
Some folders of one of my CalDAV (fruux) accounts show the connection failure icon and keep it.
The synchronisation failed once when the router was down some minutes but went fine all the day afterwards.
After a restart the icons are still there without any failure in the sync dialogue.
Even after a right click > Repair of the account root the icons persist.
- How to get rid of that icon?
- Is my data in eM Client still safe?
Hard line wrapping in task notes after sync.
It appears that the new editor component is buggy in some way.
I receive text-only eMails where paragraphs are coded as CR/LF or as NL.
I turn eMail into tasks and the task looks fine.
After editing and a sync sometimes, can’t tell the exact point, the notes are hard wrapped at about 70 to 80 charachters. This has not been the case in the initial task nor in the email.
Further more, each empty line (paragraph) is spread into two paragraphs.
Please check this. It is destroying the structure resp. text-flow of the notes.
Moving em Client to a dual screen still has issues… I have 2 screens
-
Main 1600 x900
-
2nd: 1920 x1080
-
Using the windows keys win-shift-arrow
-
if em client is full screen on screen one and moved to screen two, instead of maximizing on screen two, is shows as maximized (controls in top right conrer) but only takes up 1600 x 900 on the larger screen. you have to restore down then maximize again…
-
when moving back - the em client over maximizes and after that win keys will not move em client at all
-
when dragging with the mouse seems to work fine
Same at my dual screen environment.
Standard minimize procedure (click minimize) from 2nd screen and maximize instead leads to window of size of 1st scren but on 2nd scren. Two more clicks neccessary to maximize correctly.
Problem with table-based signatures.
My signatures are based on tables with 0-point borders. Versions 5 and 6 beta 1 handled them correctly but it changed a little with 6 beta 2.
The supposedly 0-point - thus invisible - lines are now visible for all new messages. Surprisingly when replying / forwarding messages, the table borders are not visible (as intended)!
I believe they are not actually send in that state - at least when sending a message to myself I get it without borders in the signature, but it creates some confusion to me. Therefore I’d appreciate reverting this to the previous state
2 design errors :
Indexed search in emails is by fare slower than in V5.
Each search initiates a synch of accounts and seems to wait for that to finish.
(No Excahnge accounts on the test machine.)
The notes editor drives me crazy.
* Cursor jumps after some typing somewhere.
* Classic shortcuts Shift+Del/Shift+Ins (equivalent of Strg+X/Strg+V) do not work as expected any more (V5 did). Those legacy shortcuts are made for the right hand use so they may not be ommited! (Fast 10 finger typers welcome!)
Hi!
Just installed Version 6 and synchronized with two Exchange accounts.
Works well except that I get for one of the accounts during sync the following error message (slightly translated to english :-)):
Synchronization of folder “[myEmailaddress]/Gelöschte Objekte” failed with error: This property was requested but it wasn’t returned by the server.
“Gelöschte Objekte” --> “Deleted Objects”
This happens not with the other account.
Any idea?
German contact cards display ZIP-Code and town in wrong order.
Display: “Town, ZIP“
Should be localized to German: “ZIP Town“ (oder, no comma)
V5 did this right.
Similar behaviour with legacy shortcuts Shift+Del/Shift+Ins (see below)
On my touch screen Windows 8.1 computer (an upgraded Dell Latitude XT2), I notice the following issues so far:
- Scrolling down (by swiping up) with a finger on my touch-screen grabs the scroll bar and the column headings as well as the actual message list, and moves the whole viewing pane up until it is mostly disappeared. Once it is only about 1/3 showing on screen, then the touch scrolling takes over and scrolls the actual message list. Swiping down (to scroll up) does not have this problem. This works the same in “touch layout” or not (I’ve tried both), and scrolling with the arrow keys or mouse works normally.
- Left and right arrow keys are reversed for keyboard navigation on the menu. Up and down arrow keys are fine, and the right arrow still opens a sub-menu or left arrow closes it (so that part is not reversed), but when there is no submenu, left and right arrows work backwards, and it’s also hard to go left and right between top-level menus when there are submenus interacting.
- If I’m in an “all folders” message search, initiated from a particular folder (as all such searches are), and I drag-and-drop a message, and rather than dragging it to a folder on the folder list on the left hand side of the screen, I drop it in place (because I, perhaps, changed my mind; I grabbed the wrong message, or didn’t mean to be dragging the message at all, but just moved my mouse too much while clicking)… then it MOVES the message to the current folder. In my opinion, dropping a message back where you found it should not change its folder.
- Dragging-and-dropping a message (or group of highlighted messages) does not seem possible yet via a touch gesture. I realize this could be considered a “new feature”, beyond the touch support that has already been implemented, and I’m grateful to have any touch support at all.
But I have noticed by using it (not by any sort of instructions or documentation, so this may be technically an incomplete description) that the standard Windows 8 touch scrolling and/or drag/dropping support, for example in Windows Explorer, seems to be that touch-and-drag vertically scrolls the list, while touch-and-drag horizontally will grab an object (or group of objects) and start a drag-and-drop experience; so I tried this in eM Client Beta 2, and it doesn’t work yet. I would find it useful if it did, since I’m often moving messages to folders.
All in all, I’m enjoying testing the new Beta 2.

Not a bug, but a missing feature since V5:
Please add the possibility to persistantly hide/show the lines “Add a new task” and “Search” in the Agenda panel.
When using severall different accounts the “Add a new task” is not helpfull because it can create a task only in one standard folder. So it should be possible to disable that input element.
The search bar instead is very helpfull if one has many tasks. So it should be possible to make it permanent e.g. like the search bars in mail or contact window.
Hello eM guys,
Is it on the list of your known problems? If not, are you able to reproduce?
I’m ready to help if needed.
Thanks in advance.
Two bugs in the Exchange client - which does seem pretty solid at this time:
- synchronization of my calendar breaks off consistently due to error:

Regarding the keyboard menu navigation, I should mention that if you simply press and release “Alt” to highlight the menu bar, but don’t open any menus, that the left and right arrow keys work properly. Only when I then press the down arrow to open one of the menus, or if I press, for example alt-F, or touch the menu with my finger, and a menu opens (which is actually the normal case) do the left/right arrow keys start working backwards in absence of a submenu to reveal.
