E-Mail window opening very slow

When opening an e-mail in a new window, this can be very slow. Even a simple, plain text e-mail may take several seconds to open. To be precise: The window itself opens almost immediately (including correct caption and topic), but the mail’s contents may take several seconds to display. Usually, it takes 1-2 seconds, but it can be a lot longer.

Someone from eM Client suggested:
“Try disabling the fade-in animations. You can do so in Settings>Mail>Read> uncheck the “Enable fade-in animations when opening messages” option. If the issue persists, please reach out to us via support.emclient.com and we’ll be happy to assist you with troubleshooting.”

This option is not active on my computer. Trying to contact them via support.emclient.com did not work since I don’t have a login for the helpdesk.

Messages can be slow to open / read untill they are fully cached locally.

So you can speed up messages opening / reading by enabling to “download messages offline including attachments” via “Menu / Accounts” as in the below V9 & V10 IMAP Yahoo acct examples.

Note:- It will take more mail database storage space but will normally fix that issue.

(eM Client V10 example) to download messages offline including attachments.

(eM Client V9 example) to download messages offline including attachments.

Note: If the messages are already fully cached locally then it might your your eg: internet connection speed, or could be a background resident program possibly interfering slowing the messages reading, or could be some sort of hardware issue with cpu speed / low ram etc.

This did not help. I changed that settings for the IMAP account with no measurable change - it still takes about one second to open the window, also for e-mails I already opened just seconds before.

Some other accounts are using Exchange Web Services or POP3 with the same lag.

My machine is a Intel i5-12500 with 32 GB of RAM and a CPU load of < 5% and a fiber internet connection with 500 MB/s download, 50 MB/s upload.
