e-mail not loading

I’m having an issue when I open an email to read it never loads the body of the e-mail, I see the dots scrolling across the top of the e-mail body but nothing ever loads, If I close and re-open EM Client all works as it should. This issue occurs on both of the IMAP e-mail accounts that are configured in EM client and both accounts are set to download the message for off-line viewing.
I am using version 7.0.27943.0.
This just started in the past week or so.
In my opinion my database is large, not sure if this effects the problem or not.

I have the same problema with an Outlook.com account versión 7.0.27943.0.

Only way to read the mails is to close the cliente and shut down with task manager because remains open.

Any help ?

Hello Mikey,

We’re sorry for the inconvenience. How large is your database? In any case, could you please export one of the messages that take a long time to load into .eml (right-clicking the mail, selecting ‘Save As…’) and send it to [email protected] with a link to this thread?

Regards,
Maurice

Hello Sergio,

Do you also download messages for offline use? Does the whole program freeze or is it still possible to e.g. switch between messages? As for the closing issue, could you please first make sure that you aren’t closing eM Client to tray? You can check this in Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> General - General - ‘Close application to tray’.

Thank you,
Maurice

Hi,

It is an Outlook.com account (EAS) and I have check and all message (including pictures and attachment) are download for offline use.

When this happens you can switch between messages but no one is diplayed and just scrolling dots are shown.

When I close the program is not closed to try.

The program Works fine beside that and the other problem is that when I wake up the laptop and em client is already open, it freeze for a leats 5 minutes until I can use it.

I have an i5 6 gb ram laptop with w10.

Regards

Hello Sergio,

Thank you for the details. We will be looking into this.

As for the whole application freeze - could you download this tool http://www.emclient.com/tools/emstackdump.exe and run it while the application is frozen? It will create a .txt file called “eM Client Stack date time”. Please send it to [email protected] with a link to this thread and we will look into what is the issue.

Thank you,
Maurice

I have two questions related to Maurice’s query “How large is your database?”

(1) How does one determine how large one’s database is?

(2) Is there a size that is somehow too large?

Thanks, Lance

Hello Lance,

You can see the size of your database by checking the size of the eM Client folder in C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\

How well eM Client works with your database depends on your computer’s parameters. If the computer’s performance is good, 70-100GB is still okay, if it is average than it usually works well for sizes around 30GB.

Maurice

I’m just setting up a spiffy new Dell computer, with 32GB Ram and a 512GB SSD. One of my expectations–especially with the solid state drive–was that my problems with eM Client being slow to load email (as described above) would be gone. Not so. When I click on recently downloaded email, there’s still a 6 second delay before the content is displayed.

This is a Win10 64bit computer.  I’ve got eMC connected to two Gmail accounts, both with the “Offline” settings configured to  download messages and attachments.
