MCP for Claude App: support shared mailboxes for M365 accounts (email and calendar)
The current AI feature in eM Client 11 beta which uses MCP, can perform actions on emails such as searching, retrieving, and drafting messages. However, there is no specific information confirming that it can draft emails from shared mailboxes. Or, when calendar is supported, meeting invites.
Shared mailboxes themselves are supported in eM Client as part of MS Exchange features, allowing multiple users to access the same mailbox. But regarding the AI-driven MCP feature, sending emails from shared mailboxes is not explicitly mentioned as supported at this time.
Claude’s MCP for M365 and Outlook does not support shared mailboxes.
Does someone know if it’s supported? If not, if it’s planned?
Thank you for testing the v11 beta and for sharing your findings. We’re glad shared Microsoft 365 mailboxes are working for you through the MCP feature, and it’s useful to know that Outlook’s MCP doesn’t offer this.
We’ve noted both gaps you mention:
Calendar invitations: The MCP feature currently covers searching, retrieving and drafting emails, so creating meeting invites isn’t available yet. We’ve taken this as a feature request.
QuickText: Access to QuickText isn’t available through the MCP at the moment. We’ve noted this as feedback too.
