Downloaded eM cClient 6 to my HP Pavilion dv6, but it won't open. Any suggestions?

I have it on my Task bar and when I click on it, the sand timer displays for a second or two and then nothing. I checked my Task Manager and while it reflects that the “Mailclient” service is active, the program never opens.
