The continuing complaints about crashes does not fill me with hope to continue my trial, which is coming to an end. I find the program crashes out at least once a day, with no apparent reason that I can find. It even bombs out in the night leaving a goodbye message for me in the morning. I have tired of filling the the crash details. Suddenly the sluggish OUTLOOK does not seem so bad!
Hi David, what version of eM Client are you currently using? Can you please copy the content of the error shown in the error report window and post it here on the forum?
The attached was on my machine this morning, There were two error boxes but after copying content 1 to Notepad, closing one closed both & program. I have long given up with autosend of data as it always fails.
I am trialling at home & work (as an aside:shame you dont do a 2 machine cover as most people have this status and other companies do). Both crash regularly, though just logged into work and there is no crash so far.

once the error occurs, can you please open your task manager using the Run utility: %SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\TaskMgr.exe
instead of dismissing the error, please find the “MailClient.exe” process in the task manager, right click the option and select “Create dump”, a dump file will be created on your computer, can you please share this file with us using a common sharing service such as Dropbox?
Share it with my account firstname.lastname@example.org and possibly include a reference link to this forum topic.
I have sent you the crash report as requested. It suddenly didi not happen for a few days, so I even bought a license thinking it was all over. Can cope it once a week if that is all.
Unfortunately the dump file is 500Mbytes and will to go via email (error reported “too big”)
Hi again David, as suggested above, do you think it would be possible to share the dump file with us using some of the common file sharing services, such as Dropbox or Google Drive?
I was wondering if a solution has been found to the constant crashing and checking of all the emails if they are corrupted/demmaged after restarting the eM Client???
Hi Ben, if you’re having issues with the application crashing, please submit more information about the crash that occurred on your instance of eM client, if possible please copy the content of the crash log thrown after the application crash and submit it to us here on the forum.
The database check is run if the application is forcibly quit, e.g. couldn’t finish un-initialization, this can be caused during computer restart, shut down or during an application crash.
As suggested in an other thread, I have installed the version you recommended (6.0.22065.0) in my Windows 7.
The database check is done every day in when I start up and after every crash. I finish the day with closing every program manually; the eM Client I closed either by clicking the cross in the upper righthand corner or by ‘Exit’ under ‘Files’. The result is the same; next day a data check which takes ‘hours’.
I made a DUMP file, which you can find in my Dropbox:
This is a log file in .txt format I made just after a connection error + DataCheck window.
and the DUMP file.
I hope you have a solution for this.
Thanks in advance,
Hi again Ben, thank you for providing these kind of information with us, since you’ve created a dump file, does the application crash and display a crash report window, or when exactly did you create the Dump file from the process? This should only be created when the application displays a “not responding” state.
In case the crash report window is displayed, please click on the “show error” button, copy the content of the error and submit it to us here on the forum.
Also, if you believe the application was quit properly the last time, you can skip the database check by using the “Cancel” button, this will skip the check and open the application.
OK. I’ll handle the Data Check like you suggested and only make use off it when eM Client is not properly closed. Thanmks.
About the crash, I never got a ‘not responding’ message, but in fact I can not continue; the eM Client is closing down automatically and I can not do something to prevent that.
When it happens again, I’ll make a screenshot of the maessage window and do what you asked me: “click on the “show error” button, copy the content of the error and submit it to us here on the forum.”
Thanks thus far,
Kind Regards and have a great weekend.
