Deleting mail with "Del" permanently deletes mail

Hi folks,

I’m currently checking out emClient and one really like it so far.

One thing that really bugs me is if I delete an mail with the “Del” button, the program asks if I want to delete the mail. If I agree, the mail gets deleted permanently. Means, I cannot find it in the “Trash” folder. It’s just gone.

I’ve never experienced such an behaviour in another mail client (e.g. Thunderbird, Lotus Notes etc.).

Is this the normal behaviour?

If so, is there any workaround that moves mails which are deleted with “Del” to the trash folder?

I’m using Proton Mail w/ Proton Mail Bridge.
E-Mail address is with my own domain, configured in Proton.

In Thunderbird, everything works normal and deleting mails with the “Del” key moves them to the trash folder.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks!

Normally pressing the Del key “does not permanently delete mail” by default and does move it to the trash folder.

(eM Client V10 Settings example)

Go to “Menu / Settings (Preferences) / General / Confirmations” and check if you have the option enabled to ask before deleting mail permanently.
