Deleting mail with Del button almost never works first time

I think this has been noticed and reported before, but when going through my exchange email account in the “overview” window (where emails are listed vertically and a few lines showing), pressing the Del button on the keyboard almost never really registers. Sometimes I have to press 6 or 7 times to get the mail removed. Or I have to move up or down to another email and than back again to try again. Quite annoying.

Again, this might have something to do with having a large email database (over 8.200 emails in this one alone). But I don’t know for sure.

Windows 11 updated to latest version

I would suggest to “test with another keyboard” if you have a spare. Sometimes the del button electronics can get flaky depending on how much use, which can cause that type of thing.

Also test deleting messages “using your mouse” via right clicking on the message, and see if it deletes ok first time, or if it still takes 6-7 times…

If it then also takes 6-7 times till the message is deleted with your mouse, then it’s either a server online problem or possibly a corrupted local account or corrupted hidden database.

So I would next then if you haven’t already, go to “Menu / Accounts” and remove and readd your account using the Add account automatic account wizard along the top. Then see if that fixes it.

Note: Before removing your account, make a manual backup first via “Menu / Backup” incase you need to restore for any reason. You can see when the backup is complete in Show Operations via clicking the drop-down on the right of Refresh.

Then if removing and readding the account still is taking 6-7 times to delete messges, then I would next “close eM Client” and go to the following hidden database folder and “rename it to eM Client-Old”. Then reopen eM Client and setup as brand new and see if that fixes the problem

8000+ emails doesn’t normally cause that problem. I have over 50,000+ server based emails and pressing delete is instant for me on the first press. Also I have business friends using eM Client who have over 100,000 messages using eM Client V9 and V10 who can also delete messages instantly. So it’s not normally to do with that.
