Default return address of emails sent

I just upgraded to version 10 and the default email address that users see is my name misspelled in quotes and then the actual email address.

How can I correct this.

Thanks

mjohn

Click “Menu / Accounts” and then click on your account on the left. Then click the “General” Tab and you can change the Name there.

If it’s an Alias email address name, then when you are in the General Tab, click “Aliases” on the far right and you can edit the name there.

See eM Client documentation example screenshot below.

Thanks for getting back.

What I am referring to is what is displayed in the “From” column when I view my Sent messages.

I have no idea where the name “schnibbitz” comes from. It does not appear in the Accounts screen anywhere.

Ok some other thoughts.

Go to your eM Client “Contacts” section and do a search for that name to see if it’s from there. Eg: Could be you might have previously added your own name as a contact and schnibbitz was accidentally added in there in a field so then shows somehow when sending mail.

Also go to eM Client Settings via “Menu / Settings (Preferences) / Mail / Templates and Signatures” and see if that name is possible setup in there when you send mail in a Template or Signature.

If it’s not there “go online to your Mailbox webmail” and see if it’s in your mailbox setup somewhere, as it could be eg: after you send emails your server is adding that and so then appearing in the eM Client From Column.

Apart from that, someone else of this forum might have some other ideas on that.

Thanks again for getting back cyberzork.

I believe schnibbitz is an identifier of some sort used on our vitual server and simply appears under the From column when displayed. The recipients see what hey should see re: aliases.

My solution was to not show the From column on my Sends, as it was before I upgraded to emclient ver 10. :slightly_smiling_face:
