Hello Boris, I work in Uzbekistan (roughly same system as Russia) and have no problems.
Do you connect via a mail.ru email address?
Please give a bit more info on your connection and settings.

eM Client should work properly in Russia so please post more information or a screenshot of your account setting (Menu > Tools > Accounts) or a screenshot of any error you are experiencing.
