Creating a CalDAV account but calendar doesnt show up

Hello

I have a calendar with Nextcloud. I have the sharing URL and am trying to add this to the client, however after adding the account, it wont show up. Here is what i’m trying:

  • obtain calDav url from my nextcloud, it looks somewhat like this: https://url-to-nextcloud/apps/calendar/p/calendar-share-id
  • i then go into the client add account menu:
  • here i add my credentials to the form:
  • i give the account the name “username@nextcloud
  • I hit “complete” in the 3rd menu section and am put into the settings form:
  • In the CalDav tab, i can see the credentials but i also notice that the calendar selection is blank:
  • Clicking choose lists me existing folders. However, i can only see my other unrelated account in addition to local folders that are unrelated:
  • I try to create a new local folder:
  • Which i can see with a new color:
  • But selecting the new folder gives me the following error:
  • If i save and close the account management menu, i can’t see the calendar anywhere and the empty folder is, as expected, empty:

What do i do? I know it worked before but suddenly the integration vanished.

Did it work in an eg: earlier version of eM Client and then stopped working when you upgraded?

Or did it appear ok in your current version of eM Client and then just dissapear later ?

Also what version of eM Client are you running ?

Also have you contacted Nextcloud technical support to see if they have any calendar server issues or if they have possibly changed the URL ?

I noticed it too late after i upgraded emClient and nextcloud to a new major version. I cannot pinpoint the reason because i dont use my calendar feature daily.

Both emC and NC changed a bunch so i am unsure which application might be the cause

9.2.2307 (c0b94dc) on Win11, Nextcloud Hub 8 (29.0.8)

No, but other apps including my android work fine, so my current assumption is that the caldav component of my nextcloud instance is working fine.

Ok as you then have the latest eM Client V9.2.2307 and the NextCloud Calendar url works fine on your Android mobile, then you will need eM Client support to further investigate that.

So if you have a current active paid Pro or Personal version, I would go to the VIP support page and login and lodge a support ticket.

Ps I and many other eM Client users found a similar thing with the eg: Yahoo CalDav Calendar where it added in perfectly into the accounts area, but just “very rarely ever appeared” as per my post in the following thread with V9.2.2307.

I then tested adding the Yahoo CalDav account into Outlook on Mac and it appeared perfectly and never dissapeared as per my post in this thread. So Microsoft were doing something different to get it to work. Unknown.

So due to the dissapearing Yahoo Calendar in V9.2.2307 , I personally ended up transferring all my Yahoo Calendar events to my Google and Microsoft account Calendars in eM Client.

So if you have an alt Google or Microsoft account, till your NextCloud Calendar is working, I can only suggest to maybe use one of those alt calendars in the meantime.

Lastly if there is other NextCloud users on this forum that have managed to get the Calendar to work in V9.2.2307, they will no doubt update this thread.
