Comcast.net email moved to Yahoo, new settings
How to I change the settings in eM Client to get my emails after the move to Yahoo?
See the below link and extract from the following Yahoo page for Settings and Instructions for Comcast.net customers moving to Yahoo with IMAP or POP accounts.
(IMAP or POP) and outgoing (SMTP) mail server settings, and in many cases, generate an app password to use to sign in to your Comcast.net email account using the third-party email client.
Make sure your email client uses the settings below.
User name: Your full Comcast.net email address
Password: Your password.
If your Comcast.net password does not work with your third-party email client, you may need to generate and use an app password. See the “How to generate an app password” video to learn how to get an app password.
App passwords are generated from your Yahoo Account Security page. Watch the video above to learn how to create an app password if you need one, or use the steps below.
When creating an app password, use a browser that you’ve used to sign into Yahoo for several days in a row and avoid using Incognito mode.
- Sign in to your Yahoo Account Security page.
- Under “External connections,” click the App passwords tab.
- Click Create app password (find this on the right side of the screen, next to the External connections box).
- Enter your app’s name in the text field.
- Click Generate password.
- Copy the app password.
These are the below eM Client settings you can use for Yahoo with IMAP or POP accounts.
To edit accounts in eM Client, go to “Menu / Accounts” and you can edit the Comcast.net settings via the tabs along the top as per the eM Client “Edit Existing Accounts” documentation link.
Suggest before editing or changing anything, make a manual backup first via “Menu / Backup” incase you need to restore for any reason. You can see when the backup is complete in “Show Operations” via the dropdown on the right of Refresh.
