Client refresh hangs, doesn't complete

Recently, the client gets stuck refreshing, and I never get the message bodies unless I close the app and reopen it. I’m using version 8.1.1021 on a pretty new Mac OS Catalina.

Ca you update to the latest version available in the Release History and see if there is any difference.

I have done that. It is not hanging since, but today it simply doesn’t refresh. I am not getting emails today from my gmail account (as I can see them when I use the web client).
I just enabled diagnostic logs for SMTP, XMPP and IMAP.

Today, it stopped syncing since about 9 AM (EST) - about 1 day after I restarted it last. I looked at the logs, but don’t see anything reporting errors - it claims to be connecting since 9 AM but not downloading anything. Happy to share the logs, pls let me know.
