Client no longer fuctional

I use eM client on a single computer, but with several installations across removable volumes, sharing a single data source. Last week I was prompted: “The application cannot start because the database on this computer was modified by a newer version of this application. You may correct this situation by updating the application using the button below or by manually installing the newer version.” I did this.

This week, same volume, I am prompted again: “The application cannot start because…” The new version downloads again, splash screen, then: “A later version of eM Client is already installed. Setup will now exit.” So unless I uninstall and reinstall eM client, it no longer works; and it will likely fail again the same way. Can’t tell you the version, since the client refuses to launch at all. How to fix?

Here I am replying to myself, because there’s obviously no one else here. I had planned to purchase eM Client despite the repetitive nature of the complaints on this forum, but now I see that’s the result of the total apathy of its creators. Good product+zero support=garbage, so you’ve lost a customer (probably one of many). Anyone else considering this product, take heed. eM Client uninstalled, and goodbye.
