Clicking on a web email link doesn't work as expected when eM Client is open

Clicking on a web email link doesn’t work as expected:

I setup multi user profiles using this method as suggested else ware

Link 1 on the desktop
“C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client\MailClient.exe” /dblocation C:\Data\person1
Link 2 on the desktop
“C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client\MailClient.exe” /dblocation C:\Data\person2

That works great until I click on a web email link (or in a document or PDF or else-ware). When I click it ignores the currently open eM Client and tries to open a new copy of eM client at the default data location.

Although the multi profile thing is a ‘workaround’ I still consider this a bug because eM Client I believe is meant to be able to run 2 copies at the same time clicking on a link should be handled properly.

This is the only thing that’s holding me up from recommending eM Client for my customers.

Thanks

eM Client is not normally designed to do that under the same user profile.

You should normally be logging into your OS with different user acct profiles “before the desktop appears”, and not trying to run two eM Client profiles on the same user acct desktop profile.

Yes thanks for that, yes that’s my preferred approach also, however in this situation that’s not practical so I’m trying to get it working in a single Windows user profile multi email mailbox profile configuration. The fact that eM client has a switch that allows for:

“C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client\MailClient.exe” /dblocation C:\Data\person2

… indicates that this is a possible scenario.
