I have a small problem with EMClient on mobile. We use a split DNS here in the office. As a consequence the public IPV4 which is NATed is not reachable when inside the office.
How can I get my EMClient to renew the Mail Server IP Address cache, and reach the correct address, or favor IPV6 when available as it is not NATed.
If you carn’t access the public IPV4 address due to your office Split DNS / NAT restriction and want to force IPV6 address, then you would have to normally go into your mobile OS Network settings and manually enter that IPV6 / DNS etc.
There is no network settings I’m aware of within eM Client mobile mail app to force it to use any specific IP or DNS etc…
Mobile mail apps like desktop mail apps “normally reply on your OS Network settings” to work.
I fully agree that EM (as most apps) should rely on underlying OS to provide proper DNS. However, as I am not familiar with IOS internals, I cannot say what happens DNSwise when my phone swicthes from 4G to office wifi.
Maybe it is something else, but it is funny that my mail account goes “offline” very often when on my office LAN wifi, and always work when wifi is disabled.
