Chat shows offline

My Chat status shows “OFFLINE” - yet I can send and receive email and if I hit “SEND/RECEIVE” it syncs calendar, folders, subfolders, contacts, etc. correctly

That is correct - chat status affects only Chat.

But I think it should show ONLINE. Why is it not going to ONLINE status automatically? It also says “there are no online contacts…” and when I go to the gmail webpage and login it shows my online contacts

Here is my log file - there are errors every time I start EM Client. (I want to buy the pro edition, but need to ensure that this works first!!)

Send us your logs please: go to menu Tools->Settings->Advanced->Logging and check “XMPP” under the problematic account. Then restart eM Client, try to simulate the issue and send us (with reference to this topic) the logs using the same logging settings window. Thank you.

I responded to the email asking to send log files with the log file contents. Should I post them here? or is the email correct?

This looks like it has fixed itself. I am not sure why - but … I was having trouble with Google Drive aborted at every boot cycle - perhaps that was disabling something. I uninstalled and reinstalled Google Drive and it seems to be ok now. I wish I understood it better but seems to be ok now.

OK, I am glad it is working now. Our technicians will analyze the log but it seems that it was only a temporary issue on the server.
