Changing the default color of calendar items

I’d like to change the default color of calendar items (when no category is selected), but I can’t seem to find a way.  Does anyone know of a way?

The default color for an event is the same as the calendar color. To change the calendar color, right-click on that calendar and select Calendar Color.
