categories not updating

Why do categoties in my contacts tree differ (naming) from the categories under the Tools menu?

Hello Gerard,
some categories can be exlusively for Contacts, Mail or Event. Check the Tools>Category section for all options.
These are local categories stored in eM Client though. If you have separate categories from your mail server, these will be loaded in Contacts, but not in the Tools menu.
