Hi there,
I am new here and I have been trying to get my caldev calender in the desktop app, but it dos not work. I have been trying many times and only once I could se the calender in the app, but I couldn’t write in it, even thougth it was not set as an external calender but caldev. How can I solve this problem? I can not use em Client if I can’t use my work calender in it

I have had similar-sounding problems recently which I solved earlier today. Where is your Caldav calendar server? And what url are you using?
Server is in Germany and I am using the URL that the calender offers me (two different), I’ve tried both without succes.
I have suddenly lost contact with my Caldav server on Windows 10, iPadOS and Android this morning. My caldav calendars no longer appear in the drop down lists.
I opened a support ticket with Webo, my NextCloud host. They said they had updated Nextcloud and gave me a shorter version of the URL I had been using. No difference. The calendars still work for the stock iPad calendar app, and also on Calendar 366. They also work on my Android phone using OneCalendar and Davx5.
I have made caldav logs and I have just sent them to [email protected] I notice that the response begins with " StatusCode: 500, ReasonPhrase: ‘Internal Server Error’, Version: 1.1, Content: System.Net.Http.HttpConnectionResponseContent" Is that referring to Webo’s server or a server at emclient?
I ask because if that refers to the Webo server then I could send the log for them to look at, if that is useful…
There is no such eM Client server, the connection is direct. 500 Internal Server Error really means an error on the server and should be handled by the server vendor.
Okay. That simplifies things a little. I have an open support ticket, so I will copy one of the caldav logs into it.
Many thanks.
I do not want to use CalDav but continue to use CardDav.
I do not want to use calendar with eM Client. I only use Apple’s Calendar but I use CardDav with eM Client only to access my contacts for composing mails and profile pictures. For everything else I use Apple’s Contacts.
(Entries for Calendar: and Tasks: in screenshot are not editable.)
Can I remove CalDav access including Tasks but keep CardDav access only?
The additional alerts from eM Client are annoying especially when they come up every day for single multiday event, where the alert was planned to appear in Apple’s Calendar only once where it worked.
I sent the caldav log to Webo. They had told me that Nextcloud had had an update which they had just installed. They checked the log I sent, and messaged me to try again. I did and everything is working fine now.
I mention this because this might be the case in Louise’s case as well. So it might be worth creating a caldav log and sending it off to whoever hosts your calendars - assuming that Nextcloud has something to do with the way you get your calendars!

Hi Owen
Thanks for the input, however it is not the problem. I have no problems getting acces to the calender from my smartphone and other e-mail clients, but I wanted to use eM Client. It must be a problem in the eM Client. I’ve contacted support and hope to get a useable answer soon. Otherwise I’ll have to use another app. It is of no use to me, if I can’t quickly make appointments in the calender directly from my e-mails.

I understand. I too need read/write access on my phone and iPad.
However I also had a situation in which a number of apps would accept the CalDav calendar but eM Client would not. By collecting the logs and sending them to my hosting provider I discovered that the problem lay in a misconfiguration at the server end, and not with eM Client. It was fixed within minutes.
This might not be the case with your issue, and if it isn’t then I hope you manage to get it sorted out from the eM Client end.
Good luck,
Owen
