Can't stop emails being marked as spam

Hello All,

Im using the paid version of eM Client. I keep getting wanted emails marled as spam, as well as a lot of wanted emails ending up in the “Unread” box versus the “Inbox.”

I’ve deleted all rules within eM Client relating to spam (actually, I’ve currently deleted ALL of the email filter rules.) But emails are both being put in “Unread” as well as being marked spam.

How do I control what is and is not marked as spam? I can’t find a blacklist or whitelist in the app.

If needed, I’m, OK with simply having NO email marked as spam (completely disabling spam filtering and just replying on manually created rules.)

Thanks!

Hi Michael, just to clarify how this works in eM Client, the application uses a spam filter rule, which looks for headers added by your server to indicate that the message is a suspected spam. You can disable this when you go to Menu > Rules > select Local Rules (in the drop-down menu) and uncheck the Spam filter option.

In addition to that, there is also a blacklist/whitelist feature within eM Client, where you can manually add trusted or blocked senders (you can read more about it here: eM Client Blacklist & Whitelist: fine‑tune your spam protection | eM Client).

Regarding the “Unread” view, this is not a real folder but only a virtual one, which simply shows all messages marked as unread across your mailboxes. The emails themselves are not moved there, their actual location (for example Inbox) remains unchanged.
