Canon scanning problems with eM Client

Hi, I have a Canon mx870 MFC connected to a Windows 10 Pro machine. I have set eM Client as the default email program, but when I scan, the Canon scanner program cannot find emclient to send emails, only outlook. I can only manually attach scanned documents to eM client. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Brian. I had the same problem with my brother scanner. Someone else had posted a solution that worked for me.  Go to settings–>system–>default apps. Scroll down to the bottom. Click on “Set defaults by app”. Click eM Client. Make sure all the boxes are selected. Hit OK.  I restarted my computer after that and it worked. Hope it helps.
