Cannot open emClient

When I click on the icon I see the hourglass symbol for a second and then nothing happens. I can do this over and over again. If I open the task manager I see the program there, running, using CPU and taking up some memory. Yet there is no window open for it. The last time this happened I closed it in task manager and then it opened fine after. But is there a way to fix this problem. Closing it in task manager seems to make it check all its data before opening. Thanks!

Hi Michael,

Please check your settings in Menu > Tools > Settings > General if you have checked the options “minimise/close to tray”. This would keep your eM Client running in the tray when you close it and there may be a problem with reopening.

Then in such case, I’d recommend reinstalling eM Client. You don’t need to worry about your data loss as the database will stay intact. If you have the database in its the default location, it will be pulled back after the reinstall.
