So I built a new desktop PC. Downloaded eM Client and pulling email fine. But, when I look at my old hard drive from the older PC, I cannot find any trace of eM Client. I know it was there as I have been using for a long time.
NOTE: I am looking at the old hard drive on the newer PC.
How do I find the older folders/files on the hard drive and copy them to the newer PC?
Hi Don, eM Client installation should be located in Program Files, your eM Client database folder should be located in Your local folder > app Data > Roaming, or based on the settings in Tools > Settings > General > Storage on your old instance of eM Client.
Thanks very much. I found the folder and files. Which ones should I copy from the old to the new? I see mail_data.dat and mail_fti.dat as being the largest files.
Hi again Don, moving database files from an old installation of eM Client to another is not supported by eM Client and may result in database corruption, causing you to lose your data. However mail_fti, mail_index and mail_data.dat are the database files containing your email data.
