I notice, that EMC is consistently slower than Thunderbird in displaying the mail content. For small mails without images this amounts to approximately double the opening time from 1 to 2 seconds. The same holds, if the mail has already been downloaded and is displayed from cache. If images have to be downloaded first, both programs need more time and the diplay times become more equal.
Maybe there is some kind of smoothing behind that to make the content appearance “softer”.
I personally would prefer the mail content to be displayed as fast as technically possible. Any half-second waiting interrupts my thought flow.
Is there some tweak to make it faster?
I would also suggest this a development goal for coming versions.
