Can only receive emails when opening

I can only receive email when I close the program and then open it again. Automatic and maual send receives do not work.

Am having this problem too…solution?!

Well auto and manual send and receive worked for just a few minutes…now am back to having to close program and reopen it to send or receive…anyone else?

I have repaired the installation, re-added the account, and reinstalled the software and it is still not working.

can I ask what email account does this issue happen on? Or is it on all of them? Is it set up as IMAP?
Which version of eM Client are you currently running? (Help>About section)

I recently updated it to the latest version, but I cannot get a specific number as my customer is currently unavailable. I am using an IMAP account through Charter.

Olivia I have updated and am also using IMAP through Bresnan (which is Charter). eClient will automatically bring in emails until at a point it quits automatic syncing and gives me an error message about checking my settings. Everything seems to be okay setting wise and if I close then reopen the program it will automatically receive/send.

unfortunately, this is a known issue with Charter mail servers. Their IMAP stream doesn’t push the new information through the synchronization process and only sends the information when prompted with the more forceful sync at the start of the application.

I am also having this issue with Charter email.  Have to restart EM client  in order to get new incoming emails.  I can’t leave it open in the tray and get messages as they come in.   EM client works just fine with my gmail account.  I just spoke with Charter and the IT specialist explained to me in a way that seemed very intelligent - that this is an issue with EM client and the way they send the sync through.   Otherwise I wouldn’t get emails at all.   In one other thread the person talks about a more powerful push on startup vs. the push during a regular sync.   EM client needs to do the powerful push they use on start up for all sync activities and it would resolve the issue…right?     Where is EM client on this?
