“This could be caused by temporary server unavailability or incorrect settings” is what my error message says. Its been like this since July 5th
If you haven’t changed any Gmail account settings, then could be a local program installed possibly interfering with eM Client such an optional installed Antivirus program or optional installed Firewall / Security program or VPN.
So if you have any option programs installed like that (other than what comes default with your OS), try completely disabling those to test.
However if you don’t have any optional programs installed like that or disabling those made no difference, then you might need to try removing and re-adding your Gmail account via either the automatic email wizard or manual option in “Menu / Accounts” depending on if you are running an IMAP or POP Gmail account.
If you are running a default IMAP Gmail account, use the automatic email wizard to re-add it.
If you are still running a POP Gmail account, (before removing your acct),create a folder down in local folders at the bottom left called eg: “Old Mail” and drag all your current POP messages and message folders under Old Mail. Then after re-adding your Gmail POP account, you can then drag all your old messages & folders back up.
Lastly if you do remove and re-add your Gmail account, before doing anything backup first via “Menu / Backup” just incase you need to restore for any reason. You can see when the backup is complete in “Show Operations” via the dropdown on the right of Refresh at the top left.
i am having this same problem and its frustrating… can log into gmail directly ok.
