I want to locate all my data files on a central file server at home as I am in danger of updating multiple versions of files.
Will emClient work if its data file is on a file server (it will be mapped to a drive letter)?
If it’s a locally mapped drive letter as long as it’s “attached directly internally or externally to your Pc” is ok.
But if the mail database resides on another Lan PC or a Remote Wan PC or Cloud Drive, then you can risk corruption as is not designed for that.
I am in danger of updating multiple versions of files.
Why are you in danger of updating multiple versions of files ?. Can you elaborate on that.
Many thanks cyberzork.
I spend a lot of time programming and preparing office documents and occasionally find I am working on the wrong version so I am going to set up a central file server so all my data is in one place. I am working through finding out what will work over my home network and what won’t.
It sounds as if eM Client needs its data on a drive in the PC it’s installed on from what you say though. I can leave it there as I only use it on that one machine.
