Hello everyone:
My wish is to get away from using Google apps (searching, emails, calendar, contacts, drive…) as much as possible due to privacy concerns.
Do you know of any calendar services online or an php-based server that could handle the calendaring functionalities?
BTW, the emclient email works like a charm. The issue is not the client but the server.

I am hesitant to recommend any one in particular, but you will probably want to look for something that works well with both your desktop and phone.
I suggest that you look at one provider for all of messages, contacts and calendar, rather than three separate providers.
eM Client supports a few different formats if you want to go the individual route.
