Calendar notification not popping up

It seems like the calendar notification is not working reliably since the last update.  Some of my calendar entries coming up this week and next have the reminder field set on the event and the calendar properties, but I haven’t gotten a pop up from emClient telling me. Almost missed an appointment today because of that.

Is there some troubleshooting steps I can do to figure out what’s going on?

Edit: one explanation I just thought of is that maybe they were dismissed by someone else (home computer).  Is there a way to view reminders that were dismissed and then reset one or more?

Maybe, but that seems focused on the mail, where as I was mainly talking about the calendar reminder notification popup box.
