Calendar not sending email invites to participants

Hello,

I have an issue when inviting people to some meeting.
My setup is the following:

  • 3 different email addresses (diff IMAP, SMTP etc)
  • 1 calendar account on a OS X server
I can organize meetings from any of the 3 emails (different activities).

When I create a new meeting and invite someone, it never sends any invite email. Even if I choose a different account then the CalDAV one, it does not do anything.
I don’t get any warning either.

I guess I’m missing something but I don’t see what & where.

Thanx for your help.

Nicolas

Hi Nicolas, what version of eM Client are you currently using on your computer, can you please check for the exact version number in Help > About? Are you having this invite issue with all your accounts or only when submitting an invite from your OS X server account?

Are you seeing any errors when trying to add attendees to your event? Do you have the “Send Invite”, “Don’t send invite” option after saving your event with added attendees?

Thank you,
Paul

Hi Paul, thanx for your quick reply.

I’m using emClient 6.0.21129.0.
I’m having this issue with all accounts, I’ve never been able to send any invite (since I use em Client, roughly a month).
I actually don’t see any error nor any question like “Send invite” or else.

That’s what I was expecting but nothing comes up.

I also have a related issue which is that when I receive an invite, it automatically adds it to the local agenda and I don’t have any choice to update that, even once the event is added.

Thanx.

Hi again Nicolas, in case of the OS X server, invitations should be managed by the server, e.g. if you invite an attendee, the event will just be saved to your Calendar and uploaded to the server, the server should do the rest and send the invites.

If you’re having this issue with a CalDAV service of another type, can you please navigate to Tools > Settings > Advanced and enable CalDav logging for the problematic account(s).

  1. Save the settings
  2. Restart the application
  3. Replicate the issue
Add attendees to your event and when calendar invitations are not sent, go back to the advanced settings window and submit the logs to us using by using the “Send logs” button.

Submit the logs to my email [email protected] with a reference link to this forum topic.

Thank you,
Paul

Hi Paul,

thanx a lot again.
I did not know that the invite were sent from the server.
I’ll check that on the server side then.
I’m sorry for the trouble.

Regards,

Nicolas

Hi again Nicolas, let me know if I can be any further assistance in resolving the issue, we’ll be happy to help.

Thank you,
Paul

Hello,

I’m coming back because it is still not working.
I had given up for some time on sending invites but I started using Apple OS X Calendar app & iOS Calendar app and both allow to send invite emails to participants I add to meetings.
So I’m wondering if emClient has nothing to do there.
Paul, can you still help?

Thanx a regards,

Nicolas

Hi Nicolas, when adding an attendee to your event in the scheduling tab, saving the event should require you to either submit the invites or not, a prompt window should occur allowing you to choose one of these options?

Is this window not shown in eM Client? Or are the invites not sent by the application to recipients?

Thank you,
Paul

Paul,

I just tried again and I do not have any prompt window. The event just closes simply and is saved.
I can see the invitees in the participant list in the saved event.
Strange?

Hi again Nicolas, can you please create the logging data as I suggested earlier in the topic and submit the logging data to my email, [email protected] with a reference link to this forum topic?

Thank you,
Paul

Paul,

even stranger: I sent an invite to one of my other address and … got the email. I was able to answer and the availability was correctly updated in emClient agenda.
Unfortunately I now see the vent twice in the calendar but only once on my iPhone.
I’ll make more tests with invites with other people next week before I bother you again but:

  • I don’t get a prompt window
  • I see the event twoce and got a sync error ‘failing to send event’ with options: send later, forget sending, remove event
(I’m sorry this is a translation, I have emClient in french)
