Calendar lost after update

Hello.

About June we adopt eM Client as default email program here in our office, and it is working very well, except for one of our computer, after an update.

The update was made in July 22 by me for an user. The user was out of office in a travel, so, I just update and shutdown the computer. The user returned July 27, and she noticied all calendar data and some contact data disappear. Calendar don’t have any event, and a lot of phone numbers and email address from contacts disappears.

 All emails are ok.

Looking for an option and/or an ideia whats happened, I noticed the database folder is different from what we have configured in June. The folder we configured was C:\Users\name_of_user\Documents\Mails. In that computer, is now C:\Users\name_of_user\AppData\Roaming\eM Client, but all email still showing normally.

Another strange thing is the date of files. In C:\Users\name_of_user\Documents\Mails all files are dated in 22 July, except main.dat. In C:\Users\name_of_user\AppData\Roaming\eM Client only some few have the actual date, 02 August. The other files are dated 22 July, too, like the other folder. Even the main mail file (C:\Users\name_of_user\Documents\Mails\mail_data.dat) is 22 July, and she received a lot of emails since 27 July. The date of mail_data.dat must change, don’t?

To finish, after the update the language was changed to Portuguese from Portugal, and we are from Brazil, there are a lot different terms and conditions between the languages. Change the language in settings don’t have any effect, so I look for an update in Help-Check for updates and have updated to 7.0.26687.0. The language problem is gone, but the calendar/contact issue remains.

I think something goes wrong with the first update, but I don’t have any idea on how to solve this. The calendar and contact files seems intact, they have almost 1Mb each one. We don’t have a backup policy for now, so the only data we have are that two folders. Tried to move calendar/contact files from one folder to another, but don’t have any effect.

Any ideas how to solve this? Thanks in advice.

Same problem here. Logged a couple of weeks ago, but no response from eMclient yet.

You have any success to solve?

Still radio silence from the Em Client people. I can’t find where the Calendar data file is help on my computer. It’s somewhere in a Local Folders folder, but not visible.

You may try a ‘extended’ search via command prompt. Go START MENU -> RUN, then type CMD then click OK. A black window will appear, showing you with a “c:\users\your_name>”. ‘your_name’ means the username you are using, i.e ‘Nicholas’. In that window, type the following commands (hit ENTER to each line):

  • cd documents
  • dir c:*event_data*.* /a /s /b /on >list.txt
Take care with spaces. Just copy and past the commands on the black window, if you want. The search can take some time. When it finishes, you are prompted with a “c:\users\your_name\documents>” .

The result is a text file generated in your Documents folder, named list.txt. Open it with notepad and look for the results.

For me, appears only the actual files… no other.

Didn’t work for me. OK until I typed “cd documents” . I then received a message “The system cannot find the path specified.” I’m running Windows 10.

Maybe because your language, or maybe you are an administrator. The Documents folder have different names depending on language (Brazilian is “Documentos”, English is “Documents”, Italian is “documentazione”, and so on). And for administrators, the command prompt goes to a different location.

Well, no problem. Let’s try another commands. run these commands same way you did:

  • dir c:*event_data*.* /a /s /b /on >list.txt

  • notepad list.txt

It will generate a text file where command prompt opens, then will open notepad with the result text file.
