Version 8.1.1054 (582ba95). About half the time, emails marked as read and transferred to trash will later show up as being unread. Not a real problem as another click and it will remain read the second time.
Can you try upgrading to the latest version in the Release History and see if there is any difference?
Thanks for the response. I wasn’t aware that I was behind on updates but even with the current version, the problem exists. And to be clear, it is just a minor irritant, not a real problem.

We will need IMAP logs and the UIDs of the given message, please follow these steps:
Go to Menu>Settings>Advanced
Enable IMAP logging for the affected account.
Save the setting and restart eM Client.
Then copy an UID of the message you’re about to delete (it can be a test message of course) - right-click inside the message body, open Properties, copy the UID number.
Delete the message and wait for it to re-appear.
Once it’s back, copy the UID again.
Send the UID numbers and the created IMAP logs to firstname.lastname@example.org
The location of the IMAP logs is specified in the Advanced settings.
