Backups, off by default, removable?

I am currently testing emClient against two other software options. I imported some emails recently as an importation test for emClient. I saw yesterday that a backup had occurred. For sure, I did not deliberately enable automatic backup, and I do not see how it could have been done accidentally either. I do not want a backup on any but my final choice of email clients. I have been informed that backup is not on by default with emClient, so there is a puzzle. Has anyone else had a backup occur without turning it on, in the context of a new installation? Also, I would like to know if I can have that backup deleted, or if I would have to exit the account to make that happen, if it can be made to happen at all. Backup destruction by request ought to be an option. Or do I just remove all the imported items, and then do another backup, which destroys the previous one?

I can not comment on the state of eMC Backup by default as I have never noticed,
no doubt “An Other” will comment on this.
It is easy to enable or disable Backup, simply go to:
Menu ->Settings ->General ->Backup ->Either check or uncheck periodic Backup
The Default location for Backups is shown here as…Documents/em Client
You can simply delete any Backup ZIP files here.

¡Buena suerte!

A new backup will NOT destroy the old backup, it will create a new ‘.zip’ file next to the old.

And you can simply delete old backup ‘.zip’ files, no problem (emClient does not keep a list of backups, it’s just files).
