Backup fails after about 40 seconds with the message an error occurred packing files. Last successful backup now a month ago. Fails both on scheduled backup and trying from file–backup. Have run dbrepair and no issues. Run as administrator but still the error. Have deleted old backups, have changed back up folder. Nothing seems to work. Help 
What version of eM Client are you using?
Where are the backups saved, and how much free space is on that drive?

Version is 6.0.24985.0
I have a folder in Documents where backups are stored and this used to work fine until this issue started.
There is 1.17TB of free space showing on the disc
That version is more than 3 years old, and I don’t think it is supported anymore.
Ever thought about upgrading?

Upgraded the license to 7. Downloaded and data imported successfully. Tried a backup and it completed without error the first time.
It’s cost me a few pounds but it’s working fine again so I’m okay with that
